I'm sitting in the Houston intercontinental airport right now waiting for my connecting flight back home, and I'm just reflecting on everything I did and saw this past week. I had never been to California before, and I was able to experience a ton of stuff while still somehow thinking about coding the entire time. :) Hackathons and San Fran. Getting to Los Angelos by Megabus (not recommended!). Angular 2 and Typescript. React and Redux. Managing app deployment with Docker. NodeJS and Node-Red, nodeschool.io Sunny blue skys and palm trees. California topicals. It's been an intense trip. Running to get onto planes just before boarding ends, backpacking across the country by yourself, and taking a bus ride from 11:30pm to 6am call all be pretty exhausting, but wow, it was worth it. Making out to Silicon Valley, seeing my long lost friends, meeting other developers, and just to see the other coast was something that I needed to do so I'm glad I finally did it. Whether you're traveling, coding, or learning new technologies, you have to face life like it's a new adventure every time. Be open-minded enough to listen to others, but independent enough to know what will work for you, and just go with the now.
